Nou, dat is eigenlijk volledig je eigen keuze. Onder level 80 met gelijkwaardige wapens hier aan beginnen raden we aan, maar Dark Souls 2 is natuurlijk een game voor gamers die van een uitdaging houden. We houden je niet tegen!
De enige voorwaarde is dat je ver genoeg in de game bent geraakt om bij het nieuwe gebied te komen en de Dragon Talon in bezit hebt. Daarover lees je onder de inhoudsopgave meer.

Hoe bereik ik de nieuwe gebieden?
Zodra je de DLC op in de PlayStation Store, op Xbox Live of op Steam gekocht hebt en de game start, heb je een item met de naam Dragon Talon in je inventaris. De itembeschrijving zegt dat je 'in de diepste krochten van de Black Gulch een prachtige, voor draken gebouwde stad' vindt. Er wordt dus vrij letterlijk verteld waar je heen moet.
Ga naar de Black Gulch naar de plek waar je tegen de Rotten hebt gevochten, of versla hem als je dat nog niet gedaan hebt. Op het einde van de kamer vind je een opening die naar een Primal Bonfire leidt. De opening kan moeilijk te vinden zijn als je er niet vlak naast staat dus loop gewoon tegen de muur tussen de vuurpitten tot je er tegenaan lopot. In de kamer met de Primal Bonfire vind je een altaar. Die transporteert je naar Shulva, Sanctum City. Dit is het begin van het DLC-gebied.
