Nintendo heeft Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games onthuld. Dat deed het bedrijf tijdens een Nintendo Direct-presentatie.
De game bevat onder andere voetbal, rugby, tafeltennis, volleybal en golf.
Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games komt zowel naar de Nintendo 3DS als de Wii U.
Een releasedatum is nog niet bekend. De Olympische Zomerspelen beginnen echter in augustus.
Eerder kwamen al Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games en Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games uit in de reeks.
Daarnaast kondigt Nintendo aan dat er nieuwe Dr. Mario en Chibi Robo-games komen.
